Due to our expanding business, we are seeking to recruit a Marine Operations Officer to join the company on a full time basis. This is an exciting and challenging role which offers the ideal candidate growth opportunities with the company.
Duties
Some of the tasks assigned with the post shall include but are not limited to:
- Registration of ships and yachts under the Malta Flag
- Malta Flag endorsement applications
- Assistance with crew recruitment and placement
- Internal auditing and maintaining SRPS licence
- Negotiating and placing orders with suppliers
- Communication with vessels’ Owners/Representatives and Captains
- Liaising re berthing facilities at marinas
- Husbandry services and other services associated with Ship Agency
- Assistance with business development
Experience and Skills required
The successful candidate must have the following pre-requisite skills and experience:
- Officer in Charge of a Navigational or Engineering watch licence
- In depth shipping knowledge
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Analytical and attentive to detail
- Excellent planning and monitoring skills
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Maltese
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Team player
