Today we celebrate and thank all the seafarers from around the globe who are the heart of world trade and whose efforts are indispensable. The seafarers face enormous challenges on a daily basis such as being away from home, piracy, conflict zones and extreme weather conditions to mention a few. However despite all this, through their determination and resilience, they continue to serve our communities.
This year the IMO 2024 campaign focuses on the seafarers’ contribution to making the maritime sector a safer work place and urge all seafarers to share safety tips at sea.
